What We Do

Legal Aid advocates for traditionally “under-justiced” populations in civil cases in the state of Minnesota. Frankly, the needs are so great, and our capabilities are so vast, that to list everything we do would be impossible. But on any given day, here is just a snapshot of what we might accomplish for the people of Minnesota:

Make it easier for a victim of domestic violence to escape her abuser.

Pass legislation keeping a Minnesota family in their home by protecting them from a predatory lender.

Keep a Minnesota senior from losing her access to public transportation.

Keep a Minnesota couple from facing foreclosure by securing the Social Security benefits they have been wrongly denied.

Make sure that a child with diabetes goes to a day care that knows how to keep him from going into a seizure.
