Transcript:  “My name is Eva Kritzeck, and I work for St. Cloud Area Legal Services. I am one of the receptionists; I do the intakes and set up the appointments for our legal team. I deal a lot with the Latino population and I do interpreting for the attorneys. Communication, I believe, is the key to a lot of success, or the key of any program. If you want to help someone, no matter what type of language or sign language, communication is the key, so if we don’t have that, we lose a lot.

I have nothing but good things to say and think about the staff that I work with. I feel like a family here. People are dedicated, they’re passionate about their work, and they really want to help people. I think it’s a great organization that people need. Because of the economic situation, people cannot always afford to have a private attorney. We do need other resources, and I feel that we are it.

The hardest part of my job is telling someone that we cannot help them. Unfortunately, sometimes we don’t have as many attorneys as we wish for every area. It breaks your heart to find out that a lot of times we can’t help, but I think people appreciate at least being listened to. If our office can’t help for some reason, we can give them a resource where they can call. Treating people with respect is the key. That’s what we see: a person. And if we did—all of us—I think that we would have less problems.”
