LSAP’s work is dedicated to low-income Minnesotans and their children, to ensure Minnesota’s family law and policies encourage safe, supportive family relationships and promote the best interests of children.

  • In 2007, Legal Aid successfully advocated for new legislation that makes it possible for victims of domestic violence to break a lease without further liability if certain conditions are met. This legislation removes one more barrier to leaving an abusive relationship.
