MDLC Contact Information

If you are a Minnesota resident with a disability and need legal help, please call:

Twin Cities Metro Area
612-334-5970

Greater Minnesota
1-800-292-4150

TDD
612-332-4668

What to Expect:

Our intake staff will ask you several questions about your situation, such as name, address, phone number and information about your disability.
You will be asked to describe the legal problem for which you are seeking help. Based on the type of legal problem you are experiencing, intake staff may ask more questions, including:

  • Are you receiving services from the county?

  • Have you been denied services by the county?

  • Have you contacted other advocacy organizations for assistance?

  • Do you have private or public health coverage, and if so, what type?

  • Have you made a complaint to a state or federal agency?

  • Are you receiving services from Vocational Rehabilitation Services or State Services for the Blind?

Based on the information you provide, we may determine that your legal problem does not fall within MDLC’s priorities. If that’s the case, we’ll ask if you would like to receive written fact sheets that may be helpful and/or a referral list of other helpful resources.

For legal problems that fit within MDLC’s priorities and program areas, we’ll let you know that your matter will be referred to an attorney or legal advocate who will determine whether MDLC will be able to provide you with legal advice or representation.

We strive to be as responsive as possible. However, due to our case load, please keep in mind that it may be several days before an MDLC attorney or legal advocate contacts you to follow up on your legal problem.
